Understanding Corian’s Unique Benefits
Composed of acrylic polymer and natural minerals, this innovative material can be thermoformed, routed and joined to create integrated designs that flow continuously. Property owners choose Corian when they want countertops that combine design flexibility with long-term performance.
Residential
Corian is excellent for home use, as it readily adapts to different lifestyle needs while offering distinctive design possibilities. Key residential benefits include:
- Design flexibility: Thermoforming allows curved edges, custom shapes and integrated sinks that create one continuous surface throughout your space.
- Renewable finish: Minor scratches, burns and wear can be sanded away and refinished, restoring surfaces to their original condition without replacement.
- Seamless construction: Invisible joints eliminate grout lines and visible seams that allow dirt and moisture to accumulate in traditional installations.
- Nonporous sanitation: Liquids stay on the material’s surface rather than penetrating, preventing bacterial growth and simplifying cleanup after cooking and entertaining.
Commercial
Businesses across Hershey select Corian because it satisfies the demanding standards of many industries and has a great visual appeal. Typical commercial installations include:
- Healthcare environments: Medical facilities require surfaces that support rigorous infection control protocols while maintaining a pleasing appearance.
- Hospitality counters: Hotels serving Hersheypark visitors need reception desks and serving areas that project quality while withstanding constant guest interaction.
- Food preparation zones: Restaurant kitchens benefit from surfaces without crevices where contaminants hide.
- Laboratory workstations: The surface material of a workstation must be chemically resistant while also allowing for the integration of sinks and specialized features.
